Winter’s Lane Snowflake- finished!

Today I finished a quilt that I started last year- Winter’s Lane Snowflake. I started it last winter, then put it away during the move and finally finished piecing a couple of months ago. Then I wanted to find a backing I really liked.

I ended up backing it with a Chambray Union piece. It’s so soft and comfortable- I am tempted to make a whole cloth quilt out of it.d4ec91e4-2d29-391f-8898-e38da1258a03It’s about 56″ x 56″. I am delighted.

Dog is impressed.

Persistence in creativity

As a progression from my slump post last month, I have been plugging along. I’ve been practicing a lot of hand embroidery. My goal is to open a little Etsy shop in February.

I really enjoy embroidery. Sometimes it feels so natural and goes so well that I slip into “the zone” very quickly. Other times it’s tedious and I make mistakes and it’s straight up work. But overall it’s giving me a lot of joy and pleasure.
